My sister, Kathy, says that I am a trendsetter. Says the “tiny house” movement is the rage. Imagine that. You could call the way we are living this summer “luxury” camping. I have a propane camping stove. Queen bed with down comforter. Microwave. Campus refrigerator. TV/DVD with surround sound. And now—running water from a cistern catching rain water. Many have asked so I shot a little video.
Have an eagle that frequents our lot (mornings and evenings); I listen for his screech. Have affectionately dubbed him "Big Bird". Watch a seal bob, swim and eat in the ocean off the front of our disappearing bluff. Have not named but am considering "Bob".
There have been 6 days that it hasn’t rained. We have seen our million-dollar view of the mountains across the inlet 3 days. All summer. Sorry Alaska summer for visitors. Good thing I don’t mind a little rain and LOVE spending time with my hubby.
We are having a hard time making decisions since we retired...are we building? when are we driving out? what are we driving out? We LOVE the lot and TODAY we are thinking that we will begin building upon our return next summer...if we drill and get good water. TODAY we are thinking about leaving Alaska the last week of this month. And yesterday we had someone offer us a motorhome to drive out.
Good options. Good life.
