Does God have a sense of humor, or what?

I had plans. Big plans. I was about used to the idea that I have great friends and family but there wasn’t going to be a special someone to intimately share those big plans with. And then…

I met a man. Who doesn’t think walking a dog is a weird idea for a date. Who has already jumped out of an airplane. Who has killed bears, dahl sheep, moose and caribou but cries at sappy movies. Who has skied off the "skull and crossbones" cliff at Kirkwood but is ok with the fact that I won’t. Who has been to more foreign countries than I have and has just had his appetite whetted…next is living overseas. Who is frugal as the day is long but has a mint condition Mercedes SL v12 convertible in the garage he got off eBay. Who already loves Grace so much that he has asked to leave a note with my important papers for the girls that if something were to happen to me, he gets her. Who keeps a cleaner house than I do.

He is a good man with a kind heart. He is very generous. He is smart and funny and a little goofy. He is financially secure. He can fix just about anything so his hands are strong. His eyes match his heart and wit...and are the same color as mine. 55 years old, 5'8", 185...pretty much all muscle. He is tender. Balding and mustache. He was an elementary teacher for ten years and then was a principal for ten years before he retired. Went back to work 3 years ago at a charter school for home schooled kiddos. He is the fourth of four boys. His mom winters in Aiken, SC and summers in Ninilchik, AK. He has a good relationship with all of his family. He is a good father and grandfather. Grew up Baptist...we have been known to break out singing hymns in the midst of the snowy forest on a hike. He can't carry a tune but doesn't give a rip. Oh. Like some of my best friends, he’s a recovering Republican.

He adores me, pampers me, calls me on the carpet. He understands the importance of flowers. Last weekend we went to Seattle to see how we travel together. Great trip (pictures). Next week we start dancing lessons. I’m smitten and everything I was thinking is topsy turvy. Oh me, oh my...

Wayne was also raised a Baptist and is a fully rehabilitated ex/Republican!

It is a process!

And my neighbors have asked me more than once not to break out in song in my back yard!
