Madrid

The computer wouldn’t boot and I got behind on my travel postings. Turns out there was a software malfunction that corrected itself upon our return stateside. Have no idea who reads these posts but they serve as excellent reminders to me of travels past, so even though I’m two weeks late here is the rest of Spain 2014. The posts are in chronological order.
We arrived in Madrid in time to have the window glass replaced. Fortunately the shop was about a 15 minute walk to the Royal Palace. We spent a couple of hours in the Armory, Palace and Cathedral before picking up the
car and returning it to the airport. Went ahead and got our boarding passes for the next morning and scoped the airport. Caught a shuttle to Hotel Maydrit. At dinner we reflected on the trip. The only regret we had was not hiring a driver in Morocco to go to Marrakech or Fez. We liked Barcelona more than Madrid but as a whole preferred Italy over Spain. We know we are spoiled rotten to be able to make such sweeping generalizations but for what it is worth, we also appreciate how very blessed we are. We have the means and time to travel and a partner to share it all with. We give thanks.
