70% chance of rain

After a leisurely start went to Carmen’s to visit and plan (somewhat) the day. Sainte-Chapelle first. Hannah said the stained glass would make me cry. I breathed in the beauty of the glass on the lower level and held my own. And then Debye told me there was another level. Up the stairs and, omg, took my breath away and brought a tear. I wonder about the inspiration for the artists who created. Was it divine?

Lunch was a Croque-Monsieur. On to Notre Dame. Pam lit a candle for her grandbaby-to-come. She is more ready to be a grandma than I truly think I may be for a while to come. Stopped for a drink. Packed some croissants & brioche and headed to the Paris by night bike tour. Four hours of fun and magic and we managed to get our exercise in to boot.

The rain came after midnight. Downpour. A little thunder. I laid awake and listened until about 2 a.m. It just doesn’t rain like this in Alaska. Nice ending to another day in Paris.
