It was a week of rain and mudding sheetrock. A week like that will make you appreciate all sorts of little blessings and pleasures. A new two-burner propane stove. Wool socks. A faithful dog. Five foot tall fireweed. A power pole finally removed. A hot tub.
Was bummed to find out that a couple of brown bear were spotted this week on Grace’s and my regular walking trek. Greg took/passed his archery proficiency test Thursday evening. He and Larry have a caribou bow-hunting excursion planned for the week of Labor Day. He has been practicing a couple of times a day—when he could lift his arm after drilling screws in sheetrock all day.
Friday Greg went to Palmer to pick up his grandson, Taylor. Summer Camp 2011 may put a crimp in our damn-the-torpedoes schedule…but ‘ya gotta do what ‘ya gotta do—it’s all about priorities. So far there have been cards, a silver (salmon) caught, boomerang thrown on Ninilchik beach and local Kenai park, multiple hot tubbing, 6 mile bike ride, gun cleaning and shooting, s’mores at the firepit, and cousin sleepover.

When I have kids, I will send them to your summer camp.
