Greg and Mik raked, shoveled, screeded, leveled and then hand troweled 700 square feet of concrete that was delivered Tuesday and Friday. Whew! The floors of the carports are done. These spaces are FINALLY beginning to feel like the rooms they are to become.
I spent the week fixing painting boo-boos until I got to the point of saying, that will do. My big win was wallpapering the bathroom. I haven’t wallpapered in over 30 years. The paper and paste are much more forgiving than they used to be, but twelve-foot pieces are just plain hard to wrestle no matter what. Hallelujah! Painting and wallpapering all interior walls is complete.
Sunday finds us in the truck headed to Anchorage to pick up our refrigerator, garage doors and scaffolding. Had to special order the fridge from Lowes and it arrived this week. That is the last of our appliances. If I were being optimistic (!), I’d have to say that things are actually beginning to come together. Excavator is on site to begin work on the septic early Monday. Maybe we WILL get back to North Carolina before the first Alaskan snow.
