The end of vacation went something like this...

Only one full day in Athens. Acropolis and Monastiraki Market took every minute of it. Pictures are now posted but you may or may not notice that they end at the Acropolis. Somewhere between there or in the Market I set down my camera. And that was the end of that. With a whole roll of pictures taken from the Acropolis vantage point.
The good news is that I was still using film and have most of the trip saved. The bad news is that I was very personally attached to that camera and will miss her dearly. We've seen some mighty awesome territory; she and I.
Then another very long flight to NYC. Love, love, love the area LJ & Dave landed. We ate together and forced ourselves to ignore the seven time zones we crossed. Slept hard in a comfy hotel (with a bath!!!) Friday Dave and I hung out and did a little shopping at IKEA while Mary H went to the Met and LJ wrote a paper. That night we went to The 39 Steps and were most entertained. Saturday morning I met Laura Jean for breakfast and enjoyed hearing her gush about her life.
Mary and I parted in the Athens airport...after almost running to weasel our way on to the next departing flight back to Athens. There is a bonding that happens with friends when you share an experience like this trip-of-a-lifetime. If you don't kill each other. We didn't and we will always have these memories to share.
So, it is overcast and grey, with a chill in the air. Do you think I'm going to complain? Blessed, so very blessed.
