Drove through Calgary and 70 miles east to an off-the-beaten path treasure. Bad: construction most of the way. Good: watched a thunderstorm (and lightening) roll across miles of flat farmland. Had forgotten that Grace dislikes thunder about as much as gunshots.
As we approached Drumheller the road dipped into canyons they call the Canadian Badlands and final resting place of…Dinosaurs! Destination was Royal Tyrrell Dinosaur Museum. What an incredibly well choreographed presentation. So many fossils; so little time. LJ, put it on your bucket list.
Looped back west toward Calgary and then headed south. Spent the night at Chain Lakes, an Alberta Provincial Park. Woke with frost on the ground. Plan for today was: cross the border, skip Idaho, wander through Glacier National Park, head to Missoula by way of Kalispell to visit Greg’s brother, John.
28’ motorhome can’t wander through Glacier so we had to skirt the edges of this park and save the drive through for another day. Tomorrow we are getting up early to go to a ghost town with Johnny. More fun!
